Blasting through the Earth’s tectonic plates and producing enough seismic energy to register an 8.6 on the Richter magnitude scale, The World at Large is taking the world (fitting, isn’t it?) by storm, one thundering earthquake at a time…
Seriously though, it all started in southern New Jersey in the basement of the Lorusso residence. Dom and Tim both recently split from their respective bands and decided to collaborate on several musical ideas each was working on independently. After writing and recording demos of a few songs, Andrew was brought in to lay down drum tracks on what became The World at Large EP. After Andrew joined the band, the trio was still in need of a bass player. Not knowing any, the band asked Alex, who played drums in several bands Tim also played with, to give bass a shot. He agreed and the band started playing shows and working on their second EP, Punchdrunk in Rome. In mid 2011, Alex left the band to pursue other musical opportunities. The World at Large continued for a few months without a bass player. After posting an ad on craigslist, the band auditioned only one of the ad’s responders. Dan was a perfect fit from the start and joined the band shortly after his first audition. The World at Large is currently working on their first full length album that will be released sometime in 2012.
